Analyst Reveals Patrick Mahomes’ Potential Flaw

For years, Patrick Mahomes has been considered either the best or the second-best quarterback in the National Football League.

However, that doesn’t mean he’s flawless.

If anything, some coaches around the league believe he has a significant flaw.

According to NFL analyst Greg Cosell, they don’t think he’s elite at going through his progressions, which is why the Kansas City Chiefs usually exploit the middle of the field so much.

“I’ve been told by coaches in the league that (Mahomes) is not among the best progression readers in the league,” Cosell said.

Mahomes entered the league as one of the most polarizing prospects in his class, and not many people thought he would turn out to be as good as he’s become.

That’s because there’s much more to success than what meets the eye.

The Chiefs did the right thing by keeping him behind Alex Smith for a year, allowing him to grow behind all the outside noise and pick the brain of a veteran who was willing to teach him.

Pairing him with one of the sharpest offensive minds in NFL history has also done a lot to help his case.

Andy Reid has always made sure to put him in a position to succeed, which isn’t something most quarterbacks can say.

Perhaps Mahomes would’ve never turned out to be this good if he had landed somewhere else or if the Chiefs had chosen to start him right away.

He’s not a perfect player, but even though he has some holes in his game, he’s kept the league in a chokehold for the better part of a decade now, and he’s just getting started.
