Chiefs Coach Reveals What Has Changed Most With Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes could retire today and still be regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.

His three Super Bowl championships with the Kansas City Chiefs are more than many franchises have amassed in their entire history, a testament to how dominant he’s been throughout his relatively brief career.

Mahomes isn’t planning to retire anytime soon, of course, but he’s accomplished so much in a short amount of time.

He’s coming off a Super Bowl loss, which can be frustrating, but it’s always interesting to see how players bounce back from losing the most important game of the season.

Mahomes has felt this heartbreak in the past and is hoping that the additions the Chiefs made over the past few months will pay off and help this team get back there.

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding Mahomes and the Chiefs leading up to the 2025 campaign, as people believe he’s ready to deliver an MVP performance.

Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy recently talked about how Mahomes has changed since they met.

“Probably his consistent drive to be great. When you do the things he’s done early in his career, when he comes back the next year and wants more. He truly leads by example in every way possible. The leadership and drive to be great and better every year, it’s not normal,” Nagy said.

Nagy believes that Mahomes is more motivated than ever, and if that’s the case, it could spell trouble for the rest of the NFL, or at least for the increasingly difficult competition in the AFC West.
