Proving his many doubters wrong, Sam Darnold has led the Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl.
Seattle’s win in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game sparked an outpouring of support and admiration for Darnold’s success after previously being regarded as a player who couldn’t win big games.
Among those showing Darnold love was Russell Wilson, who spent the 2025 season with the New York Giants and holds the distinction as the most recent quarterback to lead the Seahawks to a Super Bowl. And while some may think Wilson would have reason not to root for his former team based on his dramatic departure in 2022, the former Seahawks quarterback decided to take the high road.
Russell Wilson can’t deny the incredible story of Sam Darnold’s Super Bowl run
“Sam Darnold’s comeback story over the past two years has been one of the most inspirational things to watch! Cool seeing him overcome!!! Congrats bro. Hope you win it! Go Hawks,” posted Wilson on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday night.
