Pegula entered the Brisbane International as the fourth seed, and on her way to the semifinals, she defeated Anna Kalinskaya in the round of 32, then faced Dayana Yastremska, a former World No. 21.
In the quarterfinals, she clashed against Liudmila Samsonova, winning the match with a scoreline of 6-3, 7-6 (3). Pegula leads their head-to-head 5-2.
In the next round, she faced Marta Kostyuk, the Ukrainian player who had performed notably at the tournament and entered as the 16th seed. The American went on to lose the match 6-0 and 6-3, and in the finals, Kostyuk lost the title to the defending champion of Brisbane, Aryna Sabalenka.
Through her recent Instagram post, Pegula informed that she would be missing the Adelaide International, the tournament in which she reached the title-winning match in 2025, losing to her friend, Madison Keys.
