The Kansas City Chiefs are striving to get back to the Super Bowl.
That loss to the Philadelphia Eagles still stings, but they’re moving on and taking care of business.
Notably, plenty of that has to do with Travis Kelce.
The veteran tight end had a start to forget, but he’s picked things up in the past few games.
That’s why, days after Kelce scored his 100th career touchdown, Patrick Mahomes had nothing but praise for his longtime teammate.
“He’s the true Chiefs’ Chief. He helped set the culture of what it means to play in Kansas City,” Mahomes said.

Not so long ago, Kelce was the undisputed best tight end in the NFL.
While not a physical blocker, his ability to pile up receptions and dominate after the catch was right up there with the greatest of all time.
Also, his career numbers place him among the best to ever play the position.
That’s why it was so worrisome to see him struggle.
He looked slower and less aggressive over the past couple of seasons, leading some to speculate that he wasn’t focused on the game anymore.
Kelce has done more than enough to shut down that narrative this season.
Even if he’s not putting up huge numbers anymore, the Chiefs don’t need him to be that guy.
What they need is for him to secure the ball whenever they need a big play or a crucial first down, and that’s exactly what he’s been doing lately.
