Season 16, Episode 89 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the seeming decline in excitement and media coverage when it comes to Super Bowl LX.
While only a handful of coaching staff hires has been made official by the team as of Wednesday morning, Alex and I discuss reports that Brian Angelichio will likely be the team’s new offensive coordinator and Domata Peko the new defensive line coach. We also address the reported news that two staff candidates who interviewed with the Steelers, Scott Tolzien and Chase Haslett, are staying with the New Orleans Saints.
Is there some sort of history between QB Aaron Rodgers and new coaching staff member Frank Cignetti Jr. that could result in the former not wanting to return to Pittsburgh in 2026? We attempt to answer the question/narrative that seems to be making the rounds since our Monday show.
Former Steelers running backs coach Eddie Faulkner is reportedly joining the Baltimore Ravens’ coaching staff, so we address that news. We also talk about the seemingly strong coaching staff that new Ravens HC Jesse Minter is assembling.
The NFLPA held its annual Super Bowl press conference on Tuesday, so Alex and I discuss a few main talking points that came out of that. We talk about the probability of an 18-game NFL regular season and how more emphasis on better playing surfaces in stadiums is likely to happen very soon.
Steelers DT Cameron Heyward is making the rounds this week ahead of Super Bowl LX on radio row, so Alex and I go over a few comments he has made about his playing future.
On Tuesday, we learned that the Detroit Lions fan involved in a December altercation with Steelers WR DK Metcalf has brought a $100 million defamation lawsuit against Metcalf, the organization, and others. With that news being fresh, Alex and I give our thoughts on the lawsuit having any chance of succeeding.
