Season 16, Episode 87 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the latest news concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers and the coaching staff that is being assembled under new HC Mike McCarthy.
While none of the coaching staff hires have been made official by the team, several seem destined to happen at this point. Alex and I go over the news concerning the hirings or interviews of Lunda Wells, Scott Tolzien, Ramon Chinyoung, Adam Henry, James Campen, Jahri Evans, Jason Simmons, and Patrick Graham, who will reportedly be the team’s new defensive coordinator.
Alex and I also address the Steelers reportedly retaining Tom Arth, Scott McCurley, and Gerald Alexander from their 2025 coaching staff.
We move on to discuss QB Aaron Rodgers’ future relative to numerous members of the reported new assistant coaches in Pittsburgh. We also address the numerous links to McCarthy when it comes to his reported or expected staff hirings as of Friday morning.
With Graham set to become the Steelers’ new defensive coordinator, Alex and I do a deep dive into his coaching career. We talk a lot about his defensive roots, his schemes, his tendencies and much more. We go over his fit in Pittsburgh and his most recent job as the Las Vegas Raiders’ DC.
The Steelers have a new wide receiver on their roster as of Thursday, so Alex and I quickly go over the signing of WR A. T. Perry and what traits he brings to Pittsburgh.
Steelers assistant GM Andy Weidl did not get the Atlanta Falcons’ general manager job, so we discuss that bit of news during this show.
McCarthy was a guest on WDVE Radio on Friday morning, so Alex and I discuss the main talking points that came out of that 15-minute interview.
