Fantasy Hype or Value: Is Greg Dulcich a Realistic Breakout Target at Tight End?
Miami Dolphins tight end Greg Dulcich is drawing fresh attention as a late-round fantasy option, with The Athletic’s Jim Ayello identifying him as a name worth watching in drafts this summer.
Dulcich, a 26-year-old former third-round pick by the Denver Broncos in 2022 out of UCLA, has been a trendy sleeper before, but has never fully delivered, largely due to injuries that limited his early seasons in Denver. He landed with Miami’s practice squad last year after being cut by the New York Giants, eventually working his way onto the active roster and appearing in 10 games. Over that stretch, he caught 26 passes for 335 yards and one touchdown on 33 targets.
The case for a bigger role in 2026 starts with the question of opportunity. Miami’s wide receiver room remains thin, built around Malik Washington, Tutu Atwell, and Jalen Tolbert (who we talked about earlier this week), along with a group of unproven rookies. Quarterback Malik Willis is entering his first season as Miami’s full-time starter, and with the Dolphins expected to struggle as a team, game scripts could frequently push Miami into pass-heavy situations in the second half of games.
The Dolphins’ new front office has also backed Dulcich financially, re-signing him to a one-year, $3.25 million contract this offseason. That commitment keeps him in an offense led by Bobby Slowik, who was promoted to offensive coordinator after serving as the team’s pass game coordinator last season, giving Dulcich some continuity in scheme even as the coaching staff around him changes.
None of this points toward a workhorse role or triple-digit catch total. Miami’s offense projects to be inconsistent, and Willis is unproven as a full-time starter. But as a two-catch, 30-yard-per-game floor with some upside if he stays healthy and sees expanded volume, Dulcich fits the profile of a reasonable volume-based TE2 in deeper fantasy formats.
For managers filling out the tight end position late in drafts, Dulcich represents a low-cost bet on continued opportunity rather than a proven difference-maker. The path to more targets is real given Miami’s roster construction, even if the overall offense carries real questions heading into the season.
