‘Tough To Listen to,’ ‘Too Much of a Fan’ — NFL Fans Frustrated With ‘Insufferable’ Jason Kelce Covering Eagles-Jaguars As Broadcaster

Jason Kelce is slowly starting to expand his presence after his playing career. Alongside a wildly successful podcast, he has now joined the ESPN team, and his role has continued to grow in his short time with the network.

To that effect, he has slowly taken on more assignments in the broadcasting booth, particularly during international games. However, his work during the Week 5 game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagles left a lot of fans unimpressed.

Fans Don’t Like Jason Kelce Being Biased Towards the Eagles

Spending 13 seasons with the Eagles, Kelce transformed the center position entirely in football. A former Super Bowl champion, he is a bona fide legend of the franchise. But for fans, that didn’t excuse the bias in his commentary.

After joining the “Monday Night Countdown” pregame show, Kelce has gradually become a regular in the NFL Network announcing booth for select games.

The Week 5 clash in London was one such instance. However, with his former team, coming off a rollercoaster of changes, playing in the game, fans were quick to notice his partiality towards them.

“Jason Kelce is openly pulling for the Eagles while announcing for NFL Network. He’s moaning, ‘oh gosh,’ when there was a fumble by Philly,” Tony Farmer noticed. “Tough to listen to.”

A Jaguars fan was sick of the entire process, as he exclaimed, “The combination of Jason Kelce talking about the Eagles and the refs is about to make me crash out.”

Doug Filaroski was confused about his presence, questioning, “BTW, why is former Eagles Jason Kelce on the broadcast!?”

Another fan bemoaned, “This current game is insufferable with Jason Kelce, man. He’s too much of a fan to be calling Eagles games.”

Others turned to a sarcastic route, as one fan wrote, “Jason Kelce is on the call for Jaguars/Eagles?… Yeah, this won’t be a biased broadcast at all.”

For some, though, the criticism went beyond his bias towards the Eagles. Rather than letting the moment breathe or the game play out, Kelce was constantly speaking throughout his time in the booth.

“Jason Kelce hasn’t stopped talking,” one fan complained, while another fan was much harsher as he wrote, “Does Jason Kelce ever shut the (expletive) up?”

It remains to be seen if time and experience make Kelce more comfortable in the broadcasting chair. But so far, the initial verdict hasn’t been very positive for one of the most beloved figures in Eagles history.
