Vikings News Item No. 1 — Schedule Details Partially Known for 2027

The Minnesota Vikings’ schedule for 2027 is mostly known. In fact, the team itself has made the opponents known.

Minnesota’s Home Games:

• Lions
• Bears
• Packers
• Rams
• Seahawks
• Broncos
• Raiders
• NFC East Team with Identical Standing in Division

Minnesota’s Road Games:

• Lions
• Bears
• Packers
• Cardinals
• 49ers
• Chiefs
• Chargers
• NFC South Team with Identical Standing in Division
• AFC North Team with Identical Standing in Division

Looks like a tough schedule. The better the Vikings do in 2026, the more difficult it will become in 2027. Such is the cost of success.

Vikings News Item No. 2 — The Special Teams Keep Getting Honored

In Week 2, CB Isaiah Rodgers earned Special Teams Player of the Week. In Week 3, PR Myles Price earned Special Teams Player of the Week. In Week 4, K Will Reichard earned Special Teams Player of the Week. Seeing a trend?

Better yet, Mr. Price got the monthly award, being named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Month.

Matt Daniels is the golden thread holding all of these players together. Coach Daniels has led the special teams since 2022, taking over with Kevin O’Connell. Since then, the specials have been very good; in 2026, the specials have risen to becoming elite. Time to recognize Coach Daniels for the work he’s been doing.

Vikings News Item No. 3 — J.J. McCarthy Sees Added Competition in NY

Apparently, J.J. McCarthy alone isn’t deemed sufficient for the New York Giants’ passer needs.

Jaxson Dart is viewed as the long-term starter. Unfortunately, he has been lost for the season due to injury, meaning that Jameis Winston is the current starter. What’s needed is beefier depth. Check it out:

• QB1 Jaxson Dart (Done for 2026)
• QB2 Jameis Winston
• QB3 J.J. McCarthy (?)
• QB4 Jake Haener (?)

Haener got snagged for the 53 earlier in the week. Maybe that’s just because McCarthy needs more time to digest the playbook, but it’s something to monitor.
