Brandon Aiyuk makes controversial decision about his career

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is continuing his standoff with the team.

The former Arizona State wideout is still on the 49ers’ “left squad list,” meaning the team can essentially stash him without penalty or paying him.

He would have to apply for reinstatement to collect his salary and force the team’s hand to move on from him, either with a trade or release.

However, he just shared in a lengthy social media post that he won’t do so because he just doesn’t want to deal with the 49ers.

“I will not be reinstating with (the 49ers) nor ever doing any kind of business with them,” Aiyuk wrote (h/t Ari Meirov). “I’m locked in and focused on my opportunity to return to the field this season!”
