Panthers hope things keep clicking for McMillan after ‘SNF’ debut

Carolina Panthers second-year wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan made quite the first impression in his prime-time debut.

The Panthers hosted the Detroit Lions on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 4. The contest marked Carolina’s first “SNF” game in Charlotte since 2015. The NBC program may return to the Queen City soon if McMillan keeps feasting.

Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan dominated on “SNF”

McMillan logged 14 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns. According to ESPN Insights, his receptions and receiving yards totals were the second-highest in a game in franchise history.

McMillan’s biggest catch came when he tightroped the sideline on an 18-yard reception on a 3rd-and-14 from Carolina’s 32-yard line with 3:16 left in the fourth quarter. The third-down conversion allowed Carolina to chew more clock before the Lions turned it over on downs on the ensuing drive, securing a 32-26 upset win.
