Steelers Make Two Roster Moves Thursday

The Pittsburgh Steelers made two roster moves on Thursday. As shared on the team’s Twitter/X account, The Steelers signed DB Ahmari Harvey and in a corresponding move released EDGE K.J. Henry.

Undrafted in 2026, Harvey played college football at Auburn before transferring and spending the bulk of his career at Georgia Tech. For his career, he appeared in 43 games, making 98 tackles (5.5 for a loss) with 12 pass breakups and four interceptions. In 2025, he tallied 26 tackles (three for a loss) and zero interceptions. His most productive year came in 2024 with 63 tackles, and he picked off a single-season best three interceptions in 2023.

Per Pro Football Focus, most of Harvey’s college reps came at outside corner: 1,402 of them with another 135 in the box and 36 in the slot. Last year, he logged more than 400 snaps at outside corner with a fairly even split between left (228) and right (176).

At his Pro Day, he measured in at 5113, 187 pounds with a 4.54 40-yard dash, 31-inch vertical, and 9’8″ broad. The Denver Broncos signed Harvey as an undrafted free agent but waived him earlier this month. He’ll compete with a slew of players to stick this summer in an attempt to make Pittsburgh’s practice squad.

The Steelers have made a slew of secondary changes to the bottom of their roster this month. In early June, the team signed veteran S Darnell Savage and released DB Makari Paige. Less than two weeks later, the Steelers brought back CB Daryl Porter after he spent time with them in 2025.

Pittsburgh broke for the summer earlier this month, meaning Harvey won’t practice with the team until the Steelers report for training camp in late July.

Henry spent part of the 2025 season on Pittsburgh’s practice squad but did not appear in a regular-season game. He signed a Reserve/Futures contract in January but had an uphill battle to make the team. A Washington Commanders fifth-round pick in 2023, Henry has appeared in 15 games and recorded 2.5 sacks. Pittsburgh signed Jamin Davis and Jacoby Windmon earlier this month, both having the ability to play outside linebacker and perhaps making Henry expendable.
