1) Vikings Sign New RB, Say Goodbye to Another: In what has become an annual tradition, the Vikings insist that there’s a desire to run the football. Are they sincere going into the 2026 season? I, for one, think that Jordan Mason is ready for a very good year.

2) J.J. McCarthy ‘Fell Out of Favor,’ Says Insider: Check out some of what Carson Wentz had to say about the kid’s fate. In short, things are far from settled even if he’s now the QB2. Before long, Mr. McCarthy is going to get some form of chance to play; he’ll need to ensure he’s ready.

3) Vikings’ First Exhibition Gave Signs: The preseason can sometimes be deceptive. At other times, though, there are training camp and preseason risers who go on to make the team and then do splendidly. Who among the current crew is going to demand a spot?

4) Vikings Sign Multiple Defenders, Release One: The roster shuffle never fully ends. All that gets adjusted in the NFL is whether business moves slow or fast. The Brian Flores defense appears ready to play very good football in 2026.

5) Vikings’ Safeties Have Eventful Day 2 of Joint Practices: Lately, there has been some concern about the depth for the Vikings’ safety position. Losing Jamal Adams really stings. Part of what makes the current outlook a bit more optimistic has been the play of UDFA Jacob Thomas.
