The Terrible Podcast – Packers Preseason Game Recap, QB Play Focus, Elandon Roberts Signing & More

Season 17, Episode 8 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I start by talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers bringing ILB Elandon Roberts back on a one-year contract. We discuss how he possibly fits on defense moving forward.

The Steelers placed DL Logan Lee on the Reserve/Injured list a few days ago, so Alex and I go over what his future looks like. We also pass along the news that OL Lorenzo Thompson has been waived from IR with an injury settlement.

The Steelers won their 2026 preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night, so Alex and I get right into our full recap of that game. We start our game recap by talking about the play of all three quarterbacks, Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and rookie Drew Allar. We spend a lot of time looking at Thursday night’s play from Howard and Allar, since it was their first preseason action.

After talking extensively about the quarterback play against the Packers, Alex and I then proceed to go position group by position group when it comes to the Thursday night game. We mention several players that stood out on both sides of the football, and that includes covering the performances of several of the draft picks.

The Steelers had a lot of penalties against the Packers, so we note how those need to be cleaned up moving forward into the preseason.

Alex and I make sure to go over the snap counts of several players from Thursday night, and that includes us noting that RB Kaleb Johnson did not see much action against the Packers. We also run through the long list of players that sat out the Thursday night preseason game.

This 86-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above, and we end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners.
