The Los Angeles Rams are 1-1 entering a Week 3 showdown against the Denver Broncos in Colorado on “Sunday Night Football.”
However, it seems that star wide receiver Puka Nacua won’t be available for that game. Rams coach Sean McVay had remained hopeful earlier in the week, but Nacua then missed Wednesday’s practice due to the groin injury.
On Thursday morning, NFL insider Ian Rapoport provided another update, and it doesn’t bode well for Nacua’s chances of playing this weekend.
“It doesn’t sound like he’s making great progress to be able to play this Sunday,” Rapoport said on “Good Morning Football.” “They want to make sure they are cautious with him, so will be surprised if he goes.”
Puka Nacua also missed Week 2
Nacua didn’t play in the Week 2 game against the New York Giants, although the Rams had no issues on offense.
Davante Adams had a huge game, catching eight passes for 195 yards and two scores.
Second-year tight end Terrance Ferguson also had a big night, catching six passes for 54 yards and a score. However, Ferguson has been dealing with an ankle issue this week.
Nacua had five catches for 74 yards in the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and the 1-2 WR punch of Adams and Nacua is expected to be a scary sight for opposing defenses.
With the way things are trending, it seems like the Broncos will avoid having to face Nacua in Week 3.
