
Now that the Packers have acquired Micah Parsons, people have started to make the obvious comparisons to Reggie White signing with the Packers in 1993. I understand the urge, but I think it’s misguided.
But be that as it may, this is still a fun opportunity to look back at what it was like when the Packers signed White. So here’s a stroll through the history books, courtesy of a few of the headlines from 1993.
The first one comes from the Green Bay Press-Gazette. On the morning of April 6, 1993 — the day White actually signed with the Packers — the Press-Gazette thought it was a done deal that White was going to the San Francisco 49ers, who had the richest deal on the table.
