The Buffalo Bills were shocked by the Miami Dolphins in Week 10, 30-13. Their offensive struggles continued as receivers once again failed to create separation against Miami’s defense. As a result, Buffalo signed former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman to add speed and depth to their offense.
However, not everyone was sold on the move, especially Hardman’s former teammate Tyreek Hill, who couldn’t resist taking a playful jab at him on X.

Tyreek Hill Mocks Mecole Hardman For Signing with the Buffalo Bills
On Tuesday morning, Hill quote-tweeted the NFL’s post announcing Hardman’s signing with the Bills, writing, “Man went to the opps.” While the message appeared lighthearted, it still served as a reminder of how deep the rivalry between Kansas City and Buffalo has become over the years.

Hill’s reaction comes as no surprise, given his competitive nature and connection to the Chiefs’ dominant era. The star receiver spent six seasons in Kansas City, three of them with Hardman. During that time, they helped the chiefs become one of the league’s fastest offenses. The two helped Patrick Mahomes lead the Chiefs to multiple AFC Championship appearances and a Super Bowl victory.
Now, with Hardman joining one of Kansas City’s biggest rivals, Hill wasn’t going to let the move slide without a little trash talk.
During Hardman’s six seasons in Kansas City, he played seven games against the Bills. In those games, he recorded 14 receptions on 20 targets for 130 yards and one touchdown. His best game against Buffalo came in Week 5 of the 2021 season when he tallied nine receptions on 12 targets for 76 yards. Although Hardman was unable to find the endzone in that game, he was the Chiefs’ leading receiver in receptions and yards.
According to PFSN’s wide receiver impact metric, the 2021 season is tied as Hardman’s most impactful season. That year, he earned a B- grade, which is the same grade he earned in 2019. At 27 years old, Hardman still has a lot to provide an NFL team.
Notably, a team like Buffalo has struggled to find consistency at the receiver position. His ability to stretch the field provides Josh Allen with another reliable weapon as the Bills fight to stay in the AFC playoff race.
Although Kansas City and Buffalo’s regular-season matchup is already in the rearview mirror, a postseason meeting between the two seems inevitable. If that happens, Hill’s “opps” comment could add an extra layer of motivation for both sides — and make for yet another classic showdown between two AFC powerhouses.
