Season 16, Episode 79 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday afternoon episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing everything Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney II had to say during his afternoon press conference.

We discuss what Rooney said about former HC Mike Tomlin stepping down on Tuesday and what the immediate future seems to hold for him. We also discuss the possibility of the Steelers trading Tomlin at some point. We also go over what Rooney said about the search for a new Steelers head coach, and everything related to what he might be looking for as part of said search.

Alex and I go over some things related to head coach candidates and the side of the football they specialize in as it relates to the Steelers’ head coach search.

During this show, Oregon QB Dante Moore announced that he is returning to college for another year, so Alex and I discuss that news. We also discuss what that means for the 2026 draft class right now.

Throughout this show we receive the news that the Steelers have requested five interviews with head coach candidates. We go over each of them: Nate Scheelhaase, Chris Shula, Anthony Weaver, Brian Flores, and Jesse Minter. Alex and I also go over several other head coach candidates for Steelers who are quite easy to link the team to. We talk about young and old candidates, retreads, and even a few current college head coaches throughout this show.

The Steelers are starting to sign a few players to Reserve/Future contracts, so Alex and I update that current list as well.

This 84-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted above and we close things out by answering a few emails we have received from listeners.
