Steelers Sign CB D’Shawn Jamison To Reserve/Future Contract

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to shore up the offseason roster, even while searching for a new head coach.

After signing 15 players to reserve/futures contracts, earlier in the week, the Steelers added another player to the 90-man offseason roster, signing cornerback D’Shawn Jamison to a reserve/futures contract.

Jamison’s reserve/futures contract showed up on the official transaction sheet for the NFL.

Jamison spent the whole 2025 season on the practice squad for the Steelers. He was elevated for a trio of games, seeing four snaps against the Cincinnati Bengals on special teams in Week 11, five snaps against the Cleveland Browns in Week 17 and then two snaps in Week 18 against the Baltimore Ravens.

He also played six snaps in the Wild Card loss to the Houston Texans after being elevated. 

Jamison initially signed with the Steelers in 2024, spending the entire season on the practice squad. Then, he stuck around for 2025, landing on the practice squad before being elevated three times to the active/inactive roster.

In his career, Jamison has played 19 games, including the one playoff game with the Steelers. Jamison did return one kick in the Week 11 loss to the Bengals for 20 yards, and also had a key rep as a gunner on a punt against the Ravens that Steelers Depot’s Dave Bryan pointed out on Twitter/X.

Prior to landing with the Steelers in 2024, Jamison spent time with the Carolina Panthers in 2023, seeing consistent playing time with the Panthers. But after leaving Carolina, Jamison didn’t see action in a regular season NFL game until this season with the Steelers.

Now, he gets a chance to stick around all offseason once again and potentially compete for a spot on the 53-man roster under a new coaching staff. Previously, the Steelers signed cornerback Daequan Hardy and safety Jack Henderson to reserve/futures deals, adding depth and experience to the offseason roster.
