Russ Wilson Pondering Future Following Jets Contract Offer

It appears reports of the Jets and Russell Wilson having mutual interest following a meeting last month was spot on.  Wilson revealed the fact that he’s mulling an offer from the Jets and another to hang up the spikes to become a television analyst.

“They offered me, and I’m trying to figure out what the next best thing is for me to do. I still know I can play ball at a high level”

A veteran of fourteen NFL seasons as a starter for the Seahawks, Broncos and Steelers before starting 3 games for the Giants last year and appearing in three more.  Having served as a mentor to Geno Smith during their time together in Seattle, a return to the Jets would turn the tables and have Wilson sitting behind Smith.

Having earned a reputation as a diva in recent years, the move is somewhat curious for a team looking to re-build their culture.  But is it possible that Russell Wilson has toned things down as he experienced a decline from superstar QB to backing up for one of the worst teams in the NFL?

It has been rumored for years that Wilson would look to go to broadcasting when his playing days were over, so now he’ll weigh staying at MetLife to be a QB2 for the Jets, or sliding from the bench to a broadcasting chair where he’s likely to earn more money that he will with Gang Green.
