Zach Charbonnet Placed on PUP List: Jadarian Price ADP Spikes

The Seattle Seahawks placed running back Zach Charbonnet on the Physically Unable to Perform list this week as he continues working back from offseason knee surgery to repair a torn ACL suffered in the divisional round of the playoffs.

The 25-year-old has reportedly made solid progress in his rehab, and head coach Mike Macdonald has said Charbonnet won’t miss the whole season, but a Week 1 return remains unlikely given the typical recovery window for this type of injury. The PUP designation itself is largely a formality at this stage of the calendar, but it sets up the competition for early-season touches in Seattle’s backfield.

With Kenneth Walker III now with the Chiefs after his Super Bowl MVP performance, the Seahawks are expected to use a committee approach to begin 2026, led by first-round rookie Jadarian Price alongside George Holani and Emanuel Wilson. Price enters camp as the presumed favorite for early-down work, and he’ll get valuable first-team reps that would otherwise have gone to Charbonnet.

Once healthy, Charbonnet still profiles as a significant piece of Seattle’s offense. The former second-round pick out of UCLA set career highs across the board in 2025, rushing for 730 yards and 12 touchdowns on 184 carries across 16 regular-season games, becoming the first Seahawk since Marshawn Lynch to record double-digit rushing touchdowns in a season. He was also involved in the passing game throughout the year, adding to his value as a three-down option when on the field.

Given the uncertainty around his return timeline, Charbonnet’s fantasy stock has taken a real hit for the start of the season. But for managers with bench or IR flexibility, he remains an intriguing name to roster given his track record and the path back to a lead role once he’s fully healthy.

Jadarian Price

Jadarian Price, Seattle’s first-round pick out of Notre Dame, is fully healthy and will practice without restriction in training camp, putting him in position to open the season as the RB1 starter, assuming he can hold up in pass protection well enough to keep quarterback Sam Darnold upright.

Price closed out his college career as one of the most explosive backs in the class, totaling 1,692 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns for the Fighting Irish, and he backed that up with strong marks in yards after contact and breakaway rate over his final two collegiate seasons.

Seattle also ran the ball at the third-highest rate in the league in 2025, giving Price a real path to volume right away in a run-heavy offense. His fantasy ADP has climbed accordingly, now going off the board around the fifth or sixth round in best ball formats. The obvious risk is that his workload could shrink quickly once Charbonnet returns, since the team is expected to lean on him again in a featured role once healthy. Still, for a rookie handed a clear runway to touches in a run-first offense, Price offers a strong risk-reward profile for fantasy managers this summer.
